Throughout the course, experienced instructors provide hands-on guidance while carefully monitoring your progress to ensure steady improvement whilst tattooing real skin throughout the duration of the course.

Should I prioritise classroom learning?

Tattooing is a fusion of skill and artistry, and not every aspiring tattoo artist is inherently gifted in drawing. While numerous courses prioritize advanced artistic abilities, the core of tattooing lies in the transformation of images into tattooed artworks.

Mastery in translating images into tattoos eliminates the need for extensive drawing skills. The stencil serves as a fundamental tool, and your technique in using stencils will develop with practice. This approach reduces the emphasis on traditional classroom drawing hours, enabling us to concentrate more on the hands-on craft of tattooing.

We promise to keep classroom learning to the first week of the course, so you can concentrate solely on your tattooing on your live model for the second week of the course.

When is the next course due to start?

We are running this course in May with availability to book on every two weeks. The course runs Monday-Friday with a break on the weekend, continuing the course the following Monday.

I don't think I'm good enough to tattoo a portrait

Accepted Answer

To create a portrait tattoo, considerable experience is required. Even seasoned artists often struggle with portraits, so don't worry!

In Kev's teaching approach for portraits, you begin with outlining and subtle shading. He will demonstrate how to develop shading around the eye, then you can replicate the process under his guidance.

We collaborate: Kev will handle one side, and you'll work on the other - be it eyes or eyebrows.

Through experience, we have found this collaborative method to be the most effective for mastering portrait tattooing. It's a shared learning and creation process!

Can overseas students enroll in Masters of Ink course, and what support do you offer?

Absolutely! Masters of Ink warmly welcomes overseas students to join our courses. To make your experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible, we offer onsite accommodation for an additional fee, ensuring you have a comfortable place to stay while you learn. We also provide airport pickup services to help you start your journey with ease. Furthermore, our team is ready to advise you on the visa process, guiding you through the necessary steps to come over and study with us. We’re excited to support international students every step of the way!
